Broccoli Salad
There are many versions of Broccoli Salad around but this is my families version and it is the best haha! I checked with my Grandma who introduced it to us all YEARS ago and she said I was welcome to share so for all of you asking… here it is!
Broccoli Salad
Ingredients
Salad:
1 Broccoli Head – chopped finely (including stalk… it is the sweetest part!)
1 Red Onion – chopped finely
2 Cup Grated Tasty Cheese
3 Rashers of Bacon – baked and chopped finely
Dressing:
2 Tbsp White Sugar
2 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
2 Tbsp Cider Vinegar
1/3 Jar of Heinz Salad Cream
Method
– Put the Broccoli, Onion, Cheese and Bacon into a bowl.
– Dissolve the Sugar in the Vinegars and mix in with the Salad Cream until smooth.
– Mix the dressing and salad together.
– Wahlah and scoff!
Tips:
– I highly recommend making a double batch as this flies out of the bowl!
– You can do the Broccoli, Onion and Cheese all in a food processor/thermomix if you like but I prefer hand chopping in this case (shhh, don’t tell my thermie!)
– I’ve been known to add more bacon AND more salad cream. I often use a 1/2 jar.
