When she asked for a Princess Bedroom…

I asked Indi what she wanted for her birthday and I was surprised at her answer! I mean, what 4 year old girl forgoes toys for a bedroom makeover BUT I was over the moon as I had planned to do her room for a while and this was the kick up the butt I needed. We talked about what she wanted and she was pretty set on a ‘Princess’ bed and lots of flowers in pretty pinks and peaches – and that suited me fine! So I set out to gather gorgeous pieces from NZ Businesses – many of the pieces are what pull her room theme together! I had a ton of interest on what I got her over on Snapchat (owlandmonkeynz) so thought I would pop this wee blog together to show you all and link the amazing businesses for you too! I called on my amazingly talented friend Julie from Decor Handled for the Shelves and Wall Handles we needed. These shelves were PERFECT and feature prints from (left to right) Design by Morris and Co, First Milestone, throwback to Viva La Vector (Dani from First Milestones previous business), No Filter Co, Ozwi Designs, Love Lis and Just Sew. As well as Embroidery Hoop from Arch & Co, block Houses from Decor Handled and Dream Catcher from The Humble Heart (now closed).   The Princess Bed was so easily pulled off with the Vintage Canopy from Adairs, Duvet from Kmart and many throw cushions from The Warehouse, Just Sew and Little Teapot Creations! Her bedside (from The Warehouse) features goodies from The Warehouse (Unicorn Money Box, Fake Gerbera’s and Vase) as well as print from Alethia Design Studio on Print Holder from Katy B Jewellery! The 3 statement pieces hanging on her wall and from the ceiling are a Birth Print from First Milestone held by a Print Holder from No Filter Co and stunning Macrame from Sweet on You – both hanging from Wall Handles from Decor Handled as well as a Floral and Feather Mobile from Gypsysoul Dreams. Lots of people loved the Dressing Table my Mum got for Indi – we got it from Trade Me and you can find it here! We added a few bits to personalise it a bit for Indi – Felt Flower from Oh Em Gee, Bunny Pegs from KP Designs, Clip Holder from Popi Boutique, Clips from Owl & Monkey and Crochet Heart from S19. Overall I am so pleased with how it all pulled together! A mixture of amazing NZ Made pieces and bits and bobs from the likes of Kmart & The Warehouse made this room possible and I know Indi feels even more like a princess now. I definitely don’t claim to be any kind of interior designer but I think I did pretty well! Love, Lisa x Related
